Restore fairness
Clean up our politics
The public's trust in our politics is at record lows due to sleaze, cronyism, and a culture of '‘one rule for them and another for the rest of us’.
It’s time to clean up Westminster.
We must restrict second jobs for MPs, ban freebies, and remove big money from our politics.

An independent election’s watchdog
Our elections watchdog was stripped of its independence by the Elections Act 2022. It left the Commission hamstrung as an independent referee in our elections - vulnerable to whoever is in power.
Surprisingly the new Government has decided to leave things exactly as they are.
Let's restore the elections' watchdog’s independence before the next General Election.
Register every voter
The UK’s Victorian-era voter registration leaves millions of eligible UK citizens excluded from our political system.
Young people, renters, and ethnic minorities are the groups most likely not to be registered to vote.
We welcome the government's plan for automatic voter registration. We'll be fighting for a system that ensures EVERY eligible voter is registered to vote before the next General Election.
Overseas constituencies
All UK citizens living abroad can now vote, but they will find their voices muted by a weak system of representation in Westminster.
UK citizens living abroad should be represented by MPs whose bread and butter is dealing with the challenges UK citizens face living abroad.
We need overseas constituencies so that these citizens can be properly represented in Westminster.
Scrap Voter ID
Official estimates show that over 750,000 people could not vote in the last General Election due to lack of photo ID.
People from more deprived social backgrounds were more likely to be stopped from voting by photo ID.
Expanding the list of accepted IDs to include bank cards helps, but is not enough. The Voter ID scheme is unnecessary and discriminatory. The Government must scrap it altogether.
Think tank transparency
Think tanks are able to exert considerable political influence in the UK through their regular contact with senior decision makers
But for some think tanks, it is impossible to find who their big donors are and what their commercial interests are.
We're calling for legislation requiring think tanks to reveal their funding and register as lobbyists if they receive over £90,000 from a single source.
