APPG for Fair Elections
Unlock Democracy now acts as the joint secretariat for the All-Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) on Fair Elections, alongside Make Votes Matter.
An APPG is a cross-party group composed of members of the House of Commons and House of Lords who come together to push for change on specific policy areas.
The APPG for Fair Elections is campaigning to replace First Past the Post with a proportional voting system, eliminate dark money from politics, and counter disinformation in democratic debate. It is chaired by Alex Sobel MP, and has more than 150 members - the largest APPG in Westminster.
Members of the Unlock Democracy staff team will contribute to the APPG, depending on the current focus of the programme.
You can find more information about the APPG for Fair Elections on its website, and you can find the APPG’s registration on Parliament’s website.
